Casting with Stones

Ever wonder how stones are being cast directly into metal? This increasingly popular technique has been seen in even high-end jewellery and the results are truly one of a kind. 

Join us for a fascinating workshop where you will be learning to hand craft your very own ring or pendant with cast in place stones.  

Select your ring or pendant from a curated range of masters, choose the stones of your choice* and watch as your piece transforms before your eyes.  

Over the course of the workshop, you will be taken through the full process of sand casting and adding stones to be cast in place. This hands-on experience will have you prepping the sand, learning about stone placement, pouring your metal, refining your piece and the opportunity to explore the different finishes that suit your personal style.  

Walk away with your own truly unique jewellery! 

Skills taught: Properties of various casting sands, basic sand casting techniques, suitability of different stones, stone placement, moulding and master making, how to properly melt and pour metal, ring sizing, pre-finishing and finishing. 

£140 inclusive of all materials*, tools, and plenty cups of hot tea & coffee. Please bring a snack or light lunch since three will be a short break during the workshop.

* There is an opportunity to upgrade the type of stones used in your jewellery if you wish.
