Beginner Sand Casting Course (5 weeks - 1 evening per week)

Embark on an mesmerising journey, learning of the ancient craft of Sand Casting Jewellery.

The Beginners Sand Casting Course is the perfect opportunity to learn all the basics of sand casting and have you casting with confidence. 

Over the course of 5 weeks, one evening per week, you will be walked through all the steps of working with molten metal, creating your own moulds, and learning to transform your cast pieces into beautiful pieces of finished jewellery. 

With 3 distinct projects to work on during the course you will have sand casting as a new skill that you can continue at home or in the studio.  The projects include a cast ring or pendant, a ring or pendant with stones cast in place, and a found object cast in silver to become a precious reproduction.    

Skills taught: Properties of various casting sands, basic sand casting techniques, moulding and master making, how to properly melt and pour metal, working with gemstones to cast in place, ring sizing, pre-finishing and finishing, home casting set up.

This course combines both the “Introduction to Sand Casting” and “Casting with Stones” and so much more!
